Shopify Google Merchant Center checklist

Most Shopify stores that get disapproved or suspended are missing something on this list. Work through it before you connect Merchant Center, or before you request a review.

Store settings

Storefront password removed (Online Store > Preferences).
Settings > Policies: refund, shipping, privacy and terms written out, not left as template text, and linked in the footer menu.
Contact page with email plus phone or address. About page.
Store name the same in Shopify, Merchant Center and your footer.
Remove demo products, empty collections and "Lorem ipsum".

Google & YouTube app

Connected to the correct Merchant Center account and domain.
Shipping and return settings in Merchant Center match your Shopify policies.
After big catalog changes, check the app's sync status. Deleted products in the feed cause "page unavailable" errors.

Product data

Barcodes (GTINs) filled in for branded products. For your own products without barcodes, leave it blank. Never invent one (GTIN rules).
Vendor field = the real brand.
Clean images with no text overlays or watermarks (image rules).
"Compare at" prices that are real.
Sale, currency and bundle apps don't make the page price differ from the feed (price mismatch).

Theme and apps

Remove fake urgency apps (fake timers, fake "X people viewing").
Check that geo-redirect or bot-blocking apps don't block Google.
Product pages output structured data with correct price and availability (most modern themes do).
