How to write a Google Merchant Center appeal

First, the honest bit: for many suspensions, Merchant Center's "Request review" is mostly a button, and the fixes on your site and in your data do the persuading. Written text matters where Google gives you a field: an appeal reason when you choose "I disagree with the issue", some product reviews, and Merchant Center support or appeal forms.

Fix first, write second

An appeal can't make up for unfixed problems. Google's review guide asks you to resolve issues before requesting a review, and there's a limit on attempts. Write the appeal as a record of what you changed.

What a good appeal contains

  1. Identify the account and issue. Merchant Center ID, the exact issue name from Needs attention, and the date.
  2. Say what you found. Specific, not defensive: "Our return policy page was a default template with no return window."
  3. List the changes, each with the page URL: "Added /pages/contact with phone and address."
  4. Feed changes: "Removed 14 items flagged under X; corrected prices on 112 variants via supplemental feed."
  5. One sentence of context if it helps (real business since 2019, ships from Ohio). No pleading, no threats, no "we spend a lot on ads."

Template

Merchant Center ID: [ID]
Issue: [exact issue name]

We reviewed our store and account against the [policy name] policy and made these changes:
1. [Change] – [URL]
2. [Change] – [URL]
3. [Feed change and number of items]

Our business details are now consistent across Merchant Center, the site footer, Contact and About pages: [name, address, phone].
We believe the account now meets the policy and request a review. Thank you.

Keep it short. A reviewer should be able to verify every line by clicking.

Before you click "Request review": Google gives a suspended account only a limited number of review requests. After those, a cool-down period starts, and it can get longer after each unsuccessful review (Google's suspension guide). Fix everything first, then ask once.
